HealthOne Auburn
HealthOne Auburn is currently in the planning phase and will commence as a 'virtual' HealthOne NSW service. The HealthOne Auburn 'hub' component is linked to the proposed redevelopment of the Auburn Community Health Centre.
Location and demographics

Auburn local government area (LGA) is located in Western Sydney, and is one of the major growth areas in NSW and houses an estimated population of 62,491 residents (Estimated Resident Population June 2004).

60% of the population are overseas born, with only 10% speaking English at home.

Based on the Index of Relative Socio-Economic Disadvantage 2001, Decile 1-10, with 1 being the least disadvantaged and 10 being the most disadvantage. Auburn LGA: Decile 10, one of the most disadvantaged of the 175 LGAs in NSW.
Target population groups

The refugee population will be the key focus in the first instance. Models of care to address specific health issues or the needs of population sub-sets are yet to be developed
- A facilitated planning workshop was conducted in May 2008 with a range of key stakeholders including GPs, Division of GP representatives, Refugee Health Services, Migrant Resource Centre staff, Local Council and Area Health Service representatives to launch a collaborative planning process for the implementation of HealthOne Auburn. A range of options for improving service coordination between primary health care providers which will be addressed through the Auburn initiative.
