HealthOne Gulgong

HealthOne Gulgong

HealthOne Gulgong is planning to co-locate Community Health and General Practice on the grounds of the Gulgong Health Service. It seeks to provide greater convenience and better collaboration between services for the Gulgong community.

The service will include:

  • General Practice services including a Practice Nurse
  • Primary Health Nurses - domiciliary & CAPAC
  • Child & Family Health
  • Orana Pathology Service
  • Community Transport
  • Women's Health
  • Improved Allied Health services
  • Integration of the above services will be facilitated through Integrated Clinical Care Coordinators

  • Location and demographics

    • In 2006 there were 3,696 people living in the Gulgong catchment area.
    • The percentage of people between 50-64 years in the Gulgong catchment area is 23.7% higher than the NSW percentage of 17.5%.  The percentage of people 65+ years in the Gulgong catchment area is 15.9%, also higher than the NSW percentage of 13.8%.
    • The 2006 Census data indicates that the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population of the Gulgong catchment area is 3.0% of the total population.  This is slightly higher than the Australian percentage of 2.3% and the State percentage of 2.1%.

    • Aged
    • People with chronic and complex care needs (particularly diabetes, vascular disorders and chronic airway limitation)
    • Children and adolescents
    • People and families with low incomes
