HealthOne Manilla

HealthOne Manilla

HealthOne Manilla is being developed in conjunction with the Manilla Multi Purpose Service (MPS) as a complete redevelopment of the existing Manilla Health Service site. Capital planning is well underway.

HealthOne Manilla will co-locate Community Health services with the Manilla Medical Practice on the hospital site.

The service model comprises a range of services, including:

  • General Practice and other primary health care services
  • Local Community Health services including community nursing, child and family nursing, cardiac rehabilitation, and young mothers groups
  • Visiting services such as Allied Health (eg occupational therapy, speech pathology, physiotherapy, podiatry, dietetics, and social work), child protection, sexual assault and sexual health, Home and Community Care services, and Early Intervention Family Worker
  • Visiting specialist services, such as women's health, mental health, drug and alcohol, palliative care, continence, stomal therapy and Aboriginal maternal and infant health

Location and demographics

  • The Manilla Shire has a population of 3,300 people.
  • While 16% of the population is 70 years of age or over, there are still significant numbers of children and young people in the population.
  • The most highly represented age group includes those aged 45-69 years.
  • The 2006 Census reported that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Manilla area constituted 2.3% of the total population which is higher than the NSW average of 2.1%. 

Target population groups

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
  • Older people 65+ years
  • Disadvantaged young children and families
  • Isolated families and individuals who live outside the Manilla town boundary
  • People with risk factors who currently go undetected
