HealthOne Raymond Terrace

HealthOne Raymond Terrace

The HealthOne Raymond Terrace service will be a purpose built facility located in the central business district of Raymond Terrace. It will co-locate the largest General Practice in the township with Community Health services, provide a base for a range of visiting services and link with the three other general practices in town. The proposed model includes the following services:

  • General Practice and other primary health care services provided through Raymond Terrace Family Practice
  • Allied Health services including occupational therapy, speech pathology, physiotherapy, nutrition service, social work and psychology counselling services
  • Specialist services such as women's health, mental health, drug and alcohol, palliative care nursing, podiatry/ footcare, Aboriginal health, sexual health, sexual assault, and child protection
  • Visiting medical specialists, such as paediatrics, respiratory medicine, geriatrics, palliative care, neurology, anaesthetics
  • Pathology (Hunter Area Pathology Service and two private providers) and radiology services (Hunter Health Imaging Service and a private provider)
  • Local community health services including community nursing, Aged Care Assessment Team, child and family nursing, cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation and young mothers groups
  • Home and Community Care services

Capital Works planning is in the initial stages with commencement of the development of a functional plan.


Location and demographics

  • In 2001 there were 12,490 people living in Raymond Terrace
  • Raymond Terrace has the largest population of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders in Port Stephens accounting for 35.5% of the Local Government Area's total Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population
  • 40.6% of the population are aged under 24 years
  • 22.4% of the population are aged over 50 years.

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Older people 65+ years
  • Young people, especially the unemployed and young parents
  • Children and their families
