Hand, foot and mouth disease

Hand, foot and mouth disease is generally a mild illness caused by viruses called coxsackievirus or enterovirus. It is not a serious illness and has nothing to do with the animal disease called foot and mouth disease.

Notification

Hand, foot and mouth diseaseĀ is not a notifiable disease in NSW.
