Cholera

Cholera

Cholera is a diarrhoeal disease caused by ingesting contaminated food or water. It is very uncommon in Australia but is endemic in some developing countries.

Notification

Cholera is a hospital and laboratory notifiable disease in NSW and must be reported by phone to the local Public Health Unit (PHU) as soon as possible after diagnosis.
 
Select your local PHU  to obtain the correct notification form and notify your local PHU.
