Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease

Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease is a rare degenerative brain disease that is cause by abnormal brain proteins called prions.

Notification

Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease is a notifiable disease in NSW and must be reported by phone as soon as possible after diagnosis.

Doctors, Hospitals and laboratories must notify the local Public Health Unit (PHU).

Select your local PHU to obtain the correct notification form and notify your local PHU.
