Lymphogranuloma Venerum

Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV)

Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) is a rare sexually transmitted infection that is spread through unprotected vaginal, anal or oral sexual contact, especially if there is trauma to the skin or mucous membranes. Safe sex helps prevent infection.

Notification

Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) is a laboratory notifiable disease in NSW and must be reported to the local Public Health Unit (PHU) as soon as possible after diagnosis.
