Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)

Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is a disease that causes pneumonia and first appeared in southern China in late 2002. It then spread to several countries throughout 2003.

Notification

Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is a notifiable disease in NSW and must be reported by phone as soon as possible after diagnosis.
 
Doctors, Hospitals and laboratories must notify the local Public Health Unit (PHU).
 
Select your local PHU  to obtain the correct notification form and notify your local PHU.
