Typhus

Typhus

Typhus is an infectious disease which is transmitted by lice or fleas and characterized by high fever, a transient rash, and fairly severe illness.

Notification

Typhus is a hospital and laboratory notifiable disease in NSW and must be reported by phone to the local Public Health Unit (PHU) as soon as possible after diagnosis.
 
Select your local PHU  to obtain the correct notification form and notify your local PHU.
