Allied Health ReConnect Project
NSW Health implemented the Allied Health ReConnect Project in April 2006 to investigate the feasibility of developing a re-entry model for allied health professions with the purpose of refreshing the knowledge of participants rather than acting as a 're-training' program.
Following a literature review on workforce re-entry and a consultation process to determine the most critical elements to include in an allied health re-entry program, an agreed Allied Health ReConnect Program Framework was developed. This framework was used to structure a pilot re-entry program, which was trialled with the hospital pharmacy profession.
