How to identify Abuse and Neglect

Sometimes it can be difficult to tell whether a child is being abused or neglected. While sometimes there can be signs that a child might be being abused or neglected, in other circumstances there may be no signs or the signs may be very subtle and difficult to recognise.

If you are concerned about a child you can speak with the Department of Community Services about your concerns or with a health worker at your local Community Health Centre or your GP.
