NSW Dental Therapy Reconnect Program
The Dental Therapy Re-connect program for Dental Therapists has been launched. The Program is aimed at non-registered, certificate-qualified Dental Therapists who have been out of the workforce for a period of time and are seeking to re-enter the workforce.
The Program places the participant within an Area Health Service that has identified a need to employ additional Dental Therapists. It lasts 18 months for part time positions or 12 months for full time positions. Therapists who successfully complete the program will be registered as dental therapists by the Dental Board of NSW.
The pilot of this program will commence in October 2008 and will be completed by October 2009. A second intake is planned for 2009, depending on level of demand and the outcomes of the pilot.
