Centre for Oral Health Strategy
The Centre for Oral Health Strategy (COHS) NSW is responsible for planning and developing oral health policies that focus on oral health promotion, prevention, early intervention and treatment.
This encompasses the State's responsibility for health protection and disease prevention embodied in legislation, including fluoridation of public water supplies, and extends to applying public health approaches to the control of oral diseases.
The Centre for Oral Health Strategy is part of the Population Health Division of the NSW Department of Health. The Chief Dental Officer reports directly to the Chief Health Officer.
The Centre for Oral Health Strategy is also assists Local Health Districts in coordinating the NSW Oral Health Fee For Service Scheme (OHFFSS).
