A range of services and activities are offered across NSW Health through:

Each Area Health Service has an Education and Training unit that provide high quality education and training activities, which enhance the clinical and non-clinical skills and career opportunities of staff.
Vocational Education and Training
NSW Health is a Registered Training Organisation offering a range of accredited courses endorsed by the Vocational Education and Training Advisory Board. The Area Health Service based Education and Training Services offer a range of accredited programs, both clinical and non-clinical, that are applicable to the skills of NSW Health employees.
Training is offered across a range of flexible training options and a participant can apply to have previously gained knowledge and skills recognised, no matter how and where they were attained - including on the job experience. The NSW Institute of Medical Education and Training (IMET) develops and supports medical education and training provided in NSW public hospitals. This includes:
- supporting newly qualified doctors in their first two postgraduate years
- supporting specialist trainees
