A staff specialist is a specialist employed on either a full or part time basis by a public health organisation and may be appointed in any of the medical specialties including anaesthesia, dermatology, emergency medicine, intensive care, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, pathology, adult medicine, paediatrics, occupational medicine, public health, rehabilitation medicine, psychiatry, radiology, radiation oncology and surgery.
