Doctors

All doctors working in NSW must be registered with the NSW Medical Board. International Medical Graduates (IMG) are eligible for general registration if they have completed the Australian Medical Council examination and undertaken a period of supervised training.

IMGs who have not completed the AMC examination may be eligible for conditional registration. For more information refer to:

Nurses & Midwives

To be eligible for employment as a nurse or midwife in NSW you must be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Board (NMB) NSW. The NMB will assess international nursing and midwifery qualifications for eligibility for registration in NSW.

Allied Health

Requirements to practice in NSW depend upon your speciality and can include registration and/or eligibility for membership of your professional association.

Registration to practice in NSW is required for pharmacists, physiotherapists, podiatrists and psychologists, for more information see the websites of the relevant registration body:

Ambulance Service

The Ambulance Service of NSW is currently recruiting qualified paramedics from the United Kingdom to join the emergency health care team.

Extra support and assistance may be provided for successful international applicants including:
