That's right - from 1999-2007 nurses and midwives wages increased by 47%. Plus there is a generous new Continuing Education Allowance that provides a special allowance based upon eligible nurses and midwives further qualifications.

Leave

Generous provisions are available, including:

  • Annual leave - 4 weeks minimum for full time employment and 6 weeks if working 7-day roster
  • Maternity/Adoption leave - 14 weeks paid leave
  • Parental leave - 1 week paid leave
  • Sick leave - 10 days per annum accruable
  • Long service leave - 2 months after 10 years (accessible pro-rata after 7 years)
