Western Sydney Area Health Service Vacation Care
offers staff employer sponsored childcare for school aged children
during school holidays. It allows staff
to work during the holiday periods at an affordable
price therefore allowing them to take time off at other times of
need. The program offers a balance of activities which children
can choose to participate in, excursions are also programmed and
there are some in house excursions too.

LOCATION: Coreen
Special School
12 Hereward Hwy, Blacktown NSW
The Coreen School is
situated only 5 minutes by foot away from Blacktown Hospital. It
is parallel to the hospital. Just walk through
Kempsey Street and you are at the Coreen School. By car you could
go the same way or if you are coming from Blacktown Road turn left
into Hereward Hwy then the school is on your right. If you are
coming from Bungarribee Road turn right into Hereward Hwy follow
the road down and its on your left.

HOURS
OF OPENING: Hours of operation are between 6.30am and
6.00pm.

HOW
TO BOOK: An enrolment form will be posted out. If you
wish to be included on our mailing list contact Trish Taylor
on Ph: (02) 9845 7132. You are required to fill out the enrolment
form and fax it back to Trish Taylor the Vacation Care Admin
Coordinator on Fax: (02) 9845 5813.
Once we receive your enrolment form it will be processed by the
Coordinator and you will be sent an Invoice. Fees then need to
be paid to the Hospital cashier by the due date on the Invoice.
You can pay by cash, credit, EFTPOS or cheque. You will then need
to supply a copy of the receipt to Trish Taylor the Vacation Care
Admin Coordinator in order to confirm your enrolment.
If there is no evidence of payment or the Coordinator has not been
informed of payment difficulties the position will be cancelled and
given to the next child on the waiting list. |

FEES: Daily fee per child applies. Our Vacation Care Service is approved for Child
Care Benefit Rebate, therefore, our daily fee is reduced according to the eligible
percentage for each family as assessed by the Family Assistance Office.
Methods of Payment - You can pay
by cash, credit, EFTPOS or cheque at the Hospital cashier office,
or you can post a cheque to Trish Taylor.

WHAT TO BRING: Morning
tea, lunch, afternoon tea, a sun hat, a change of clothes and a
jumper in case of cold weather.
|
|
PROGRAM: We have continuous activities running. Some of these include: cooking, art & craft creations, various competitions, organised group games, talent quests and loads more… Some of the highlights of the program are excursions. We visit places like, the movies, bowling, Putt Putt golf, Xerts space station or IMAX theatre for the double digits (10-12 year olds). In house excursions could include magic shows, multicultural experiences, dancing, etc. We also provide wind down areas for reading and relaxing.

STAFFING: A
trained staff member is on the premises at all times. The staffing
ratios are as follows:
1 staff member : 10 children
1 staff member : 8 children (excursions)
