Liverpool Health Service Vacation Care Program is an employee sponsored service primarily for staff of Liverpool Health Service. The Service provides care for school children aged 4-12 years and operates for 10 weeks of the year during school holiday periods. The aim of the Service is to provide a safe and caring environment that meets the developmental needs of the children as well as the needs of working parents.

LOCATION: LHVC is located in the staff amenities block on the Eastern Campus at Liverpool Hospital. LHVC is located opposite to the Liverpool Hospital Child Care Centre. Our address is Elizabeth Street Liverpool 2170.

To find us you have to follow Elizabeth Street to the boom gates, go through the boom gates and over the railway lines. The brown building on the left with the high gates is the staff amenities block.

HOURS OF OPENING: Liverpool Service Vacation Care operates from 6:30am – 6pm Monday to Friday during School Holidays, except public holiday.

HOW TO BOOK: Information, Programs and Booking forms are available from the Liverpool Hospital Child Care Centre 8 weeks prior to the commencement of Vacation Care. Please contact the Child Care Centre for required information.

FEES: Daily fee per child applies. Parents are able to claim Child Care Benefit Rebate.

Methods of Payment - Fees are paid to the cashier and a receipt is issued. This receipt number needs to be shown to the Co-ordinator on the child’s first Vacation Care day.

WHAT TO BRING: The children needed to bring their own food and drink for lunch, morning tea and afternoon tea. Children are also asked to bring an appropriate hat for outdoor play. Children also need to bring wet weather gear for excursions.

PROGRAM: Many activities are offered daily, such as; drawing, white board, puzzles, felt boards, and reading. We play board games (different games each day), lego, cards (UNO). We played outdoor games, such as; tennis, poison ball, cricket, soccer, grip ball, skipping, frisbee. There are special art activities designated for each day, such as; mask making, clay sculpting, garbage sculptures, egg dying, paper mache, mosaic making, beading and face painting. We also offer special days - movie day, Easter day etc. We offer many cooking experience such as mini pizzas, muffins, milkshakes, fruit juice. We also plan excursions to the movies & bowling.

STAFFING: A trained staff member is on the premises at all times. The staffing ratios are as follows:
1 adult - 1:15 children
1 adult - 1:8 excursions
1 adult - 1:5 swimming or water experiences
