Sutherland Hospital Vacation Care provides a program for school aged children of Hospital staff during school vacation periods. The program is operated at a location near Sutherland Hospital which means, easy access for pick up and drop off of children of the staff.

Not only is the Centre close, but it is also a beautiful bushland setting with lots of outdoor places for children to play and explore. Our staff are trained, caring and fun. They realise children want a home - like atmosphere and they allow the children to have a lot of choice in the activities that take place.

LOCATION: The Service is located at Laguna St. Primary School, 204 Caringbah Rd. Caringbah N.S.W. 2229. If you are travelling towards Cronulla on President Ave, you cannot turn right into Laguna St. You may turn right into Taren Rd, then you take your next right on Caringbah Rd. The school is located on the corner of Caringbah Rd. and Laguna St. It is not far from the beautiful Camellia Gardens.

HOURS OF OPENING: The Centre is responsive to the needs of the staff. Currently our opening hours are from 7a.m. to 6:30p.m.

HOW TO BOOK: Enrolment forms are available from the Human Resources Department. All fees excluding excursions are to be paid before the vacation period. (There is a closing date for enrolments, usually a few weeks before the school holidays commence).

FEES: Daily fee per child applies. Parents are able to claim Child Care Benefit Rebate.

Methods of Payment - You may pay by cheque, cash or credit card at the Hospital Cashier. Their you will receive your receipt, be sure to take this with your Child Care Rebate-Registered Carer Allowance form to Centrelink.

WHAT TO BRING: Children are required to bring their morning and afternoon tea and their lunch. They need to bring a hat for outdoor play and have sunscreen on before arriving at the Centre. We also provide sunscreen at our Centre for application during the day.

PROGRAM: At the Centre we provide a variety of activities. Clay sculpting, sport days, excursions and art and craft activities are just some of the fun things we will be doing this holiday. We have a beautiful view of the water, which is a perfect place for picnics. We also have a large hall and covered outdoor area for activities such as craft or games. Excursions and movies are all part of the school holidays and Vacation Care is no exception.

STAFFING: We have a minimum of two staff working at all times. Parents can be assured that children will always have one trained staff per ten children (we have two staff, one trained, one untrained and experienced childcare worker). On excursions we have more staff, that is one trained staff per eight children.
