Accurately assessing the depth of an acute burn wound is one of the more difficult components of assessing a burn injury. The more accurate the assessment the more appropriate the initial treatment and referral decisions will be in the care of a burnt patient.
This poster was developed to be used as a visual aid and gives prompts on assessment techniques that help in more accurately assessing the depth of an acute burn wound.
