Consumers

The Cardiac Network has three consumer participants who actively contribute to Network projects and discussions. For example, cardiac consumers lobbied the Minister for Health about the inequitable use of drug eluting stents which resulted in wider access to these devices in the public health system.

The cardiac consumers play a vital role in bridging the gap between the consumers of cardiac health services and the clinicians that provide them. The consumers have been responsible for educating other consumers of cardiac health services about the issues in this specialty and they provide essential feedback to the Cardiac Network from the consumer perspective.
