Current Focus
The NSC has received funding to:
Develop eye emergency education modules for nurses
Deliver workshops across NSW for ED clinicians to introduce the eye emergency guidelines. Thirty minute power point presentations are being developed for nurses and junior doctors in EDs. Topics include eye examination, eye skills, ocular trauma, triage and ocular history, vision loss and visual acuity.

Background: The NSC worked with the PHSS (Provision of Hospital Services Subcommittee) to develop the Eye Emergency Manual. Consensus clinical guidelines for the management of eye emergencies for non ophthalmic clinicians are published in the Eye Emergency Manual.
