High Cost Drug Working Group
This group was set up in 2007 to advocate for the provision of 'Lucentis' (Ranibizumab) for non admitted public patients with Macular Degeneration (MD). The drug has been listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme since August 2007 providing access for private patients. 'Lucentis' represents the first effective treatment for MD, the most common cause of severe vision loss in our community.
