The NSW Health Patient Survey has been developed to obtain information from patients and carers across NSW about their experiences with health care services and is only one of several strategies being used to gain a complete picture of Patient and Carer experience, for the purpose of health serivce improvement.

By surveying our patients regularly, we can keep in touch with those aspects of care that are especially important to our patients.

The NSW Health Patient Survey is an important vehicle for feedback to our frontline clinical staff, allowing us to focus on issues identified by patients, as well as gauging how well improvements and reforms are being implemented and received by the community.

Participating public health organisations include the 15 Local Health Districts and Children’s Hospital Westmead. Justice and Forensic Mental Health and the NSW Ambulance Service carry out separate customer survey and benchmarking activities with other like-organisations.

Management of the NSW Patient Health Survey program has transitioned from the Ministry of Health to the Bureau of Health Information. If you have any questions please contact the Bureau on 02 8644 2100 or by mail patientsurvey@bhi.nsw.gov.au
