The Emergency Department Information System (EDIS), which currently includes data from 72 hospitals and represents more than 80 per cent of State total Emergency Department attendances.

Note

Access block calculations are based on patients admitted to general wards, intensive care units or via operating suites only. Therefore, patients admitted in Emergency Departments who subsequently died, were discharged or transferred to another hospital are excluded from the calculation.
