Monitoring activities
The Private Health Care Branch monitors and ensures compliance with licensing standards under the:
- Private Hospitals and Day Procedure Centres Act 1988
- Private Hospitals Regulation 1996
- Day Procedure Centres Regulation 1996.
The Branch's activities include onsite visits, paper audits, telephone or written contact. The type of audit conducted may be routine or focus on a particular area. All facilities receive regular visits to ensure compliance.
After each audit a report is sent to the facility that may ask for improvements to be made. The Branch continues to monitor the facility to follow up on the progress of these improvements.
