Summary
This is a weekly report highlighting important communicable diseases that are currently circulating. Of main interest in the week 11 to 17 May 2009 has been the outbreaks of H1N1 Influenza 09 (Human swine influenza) initially reported in Mexico and the United States.

We also provide updates on meningococcal disease, viral gastroenteritis and pertussis (whooping cough).

Vaccinate now to avoid influenza in winter.
