Area Health Advisory Councils

Area Health Advisory Councils oversee and advise on opportunities to enhance consumer and clinician involvement in the development of Area Health Service policies, plans and initiatives.

Experience in the provision of health services or an ability to represent the interests of consumers or the local community is a requirement for members.

There are eight Area Health Advisory Councils:

Greater Southern Area Health Advisory Council

Greater Western Area Health Advisory Council

Hunter New England Area Health Advisory Council

North Coast Area Health Advisory Council

Northern Sydney Central Coast Area Health Advisory Council

South Eastern Sydney Illawarra Area Health Advisory Council

Sydney South West Area Health Advisory Council

Sydney West Area Health Advisory Council


There is also a Children's Hospital Advisory Council for the Children's Hospital at Westmead.
