BIRP Services across the Metropolitan Area

Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service - Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney

The unit provides a wide spectrum of services including: Inpatient treatment, Community outreach support, and a Transition living program.

Inpatient service to the following areas:

  • Northern Sydney Area Health Service including former Central Coast Area Health Service
  • Parts of new amalgamated South Western Sydney Area Health Services (former parts of CSAHS)
  • Eastern parts of South Eastern Sydney Area Health Services
  • Hunter Area Health Service
  • North Coast Area Health Services (Including New England and Mid North And North Coast Area Health Services)

Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service - Westmead Hospital

The unit provides a wide spectrum of services including: Inpatient treatment, community outreach support, and a transition living program.

Unit provides inpatient service to the following areas

  • Western Sydney Area Health Services (including former Wentworth Area Health Services)
  • Great Western Area Health Services (former mid Western Region, Macquarie and Far West Regions

Residents of the former Greater Western Area and Macquarie area access outreach and transitional living program services through their local units.

Clients from Western Sydney Area Health Services (including former Wentworth Area Health Services) access community outreach support, and a transition living program services through the Westmead unit.


Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service - Liverpool Hospital

The unit provides a wide spectrum of services including: Inpatient treatment, community outreach support, and a transition living program.

Unit provides inpatient service to the following areas:

  • Parts of new amalgamated South Western Sydney Area Health Services (Formerly South Western Sydney Area Health Services)

  • Southern parts of South Eastern Sydney Area Health Services including the former Illawarra Area Health Services.

  • Greater Southern Area Health service (including the Southern Area Health Service and the Greater Murray Area Health Service)

Residents of the former Greater Murray Region and former Southern Area Health Service access outreach and transitional living program services through their local units.

Residents of Illawarra Area Health Service access community outreach program of the BIRP though Illawarra Brain Injury Rehabilitation Services. Access to transitional living program is through the Liverpool Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit and Southern Area Brain Injury Service at Goulburn.

Clients from South Western Sydney Area Health Services (including former Central Sydney Area Health Services) access community outreach support, and transition living program services through the Liverpool unit.
