Keep them Safe: A Shared Approach to Child Wellbeing
Welcome to NSW Health's Keep them Safe: A Shared Approach to Child Wellbeing website. This website provides health specific information on Keep them Safe, a whole of Government five-year plan that details actions to be taken to improve the health, safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and young people in NSW. Keep Them Safe is the NSW Government's response to the Report of the Special Commission of Inquiry into Child Protection Services in NSW (November 2008).
The protection and wellbeing of children and young people is core business for NSW Health. The current reforms to the child protection system in NSW are an important opportunity for the health system to renew and strengthen its relationships with our interagency partners. In collaboration with them, we aim to assist children, young people and their families to receive services.
This website provides information specific to NSW Health on how the key changes to the child protection system will impact Health mandatory reporters. It also provides useful links to assist Health staff to access specialised information from our interagency partners.
