The Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) recognises that staff and visitors have the right to be safe at work. Domestic and family violence (D&FV) in the workplace can create distress as well as pose a risk to employees and the public. It can also impact work performance and productivity. As a team MNCLHD wanted to create both a safer workplace and a workforce that understands how to prevent violence.

To deliver a solution the MNCLHD worked to become an accredited White Ribbon Workplace. This wholeof- organisational approach to violence prevention engaged and enabled staff to lead the change. Interactive D&FV workshops were made available to more than 4,000 staff. Post training feedback revealed significant improvements across a range of areas. MNCLHD is proud to be the first NSW Local Health District to achieve White Ribbon Workplace Accreditation.
