How long is my clearance authority valid for?
Your clearance is valid for the duration of your current course.
What happens if I lose my clearance authority?
You have to complete a Request for Duplicate/Amended Clearance form and send it to the coordinator at your educational institution who arranged the placement. Please note that a fee of A$33.00 applies.
How do I get an urgent Duplicate/Amended Clearance?
Please send the request to the NSW Department of Health via Express Post and enclose a self-addressed Express Post envelope. (See the instruction sheet.)
What if the information on my clearance authority is incorrect?
You have to complete a Request for Duplicate/Amended Clearance form and send it, together with the original incorrect document, to the coordinator who arranged the placement.
What happens if I defer my course?
If you are deferring your course for more than 12 months, you need to apply for a new clearance when you resume your course.
What happens if I am charged with an offence after I have received my clearance authority?
You must contact the coordinator at your educational institution who arranged the placement and discuss the matter with them, and they will notify the NSW Department of Health.
What if I transfer to another educational institution?
If you are completing the same course, complete a Request for Duplicate/Amended Clearance form and send it to the coordinator at the new educational institution.
Who do I contact if I am not sure about my clearance authority?
Contact the coordinator at your educational institution who arranged the placement. If you are a student in NSW, see the NSW Coordinators page to find out who your coordinator is.
