24 November 2005 Henty Hospital and Health Service officially opened
NSW Minister for Health John Hatzistergos today officially opened the $5.8 million Henty Hospital and Health Service. "This redevelopment has provided the Henty community with access to excellent acute, aged and community services locally, said the Minister. "The partnership between the State and Commonwealth Governments will mean better health services for patients and people in Henty. The new Henty Hospital and Health Service includes;
"The Henty Hospital and Health Service redevelopment represents another example of the record funding this government is committing to health services infrastructure in rural NSW," Mr Hatzistergos said. "My thanks go to the Henty Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) Committee, the builders, Area Health Service staff and everyone who has worked on the projects. "The members of the MPS Committee, led by chairman Michael Brougham, have been tireless in their dedication and commitment to seeing this project realised. "I join with the community in acknowledging the countless hours of volunteer services they have provided on behalf of the people of Henty." "I acknowledge the spirit of co-operation of the local community who have really embraced this project." Mr Hatzistergos said. "With $100,000 raised through local fundraising, spearheaded by Steven Scott and his fundraising committee, it is clear what a high level of regard and support this community holds for it health facilities. "This magnificent achievement in fundraising for a town with around 1,200 residents has allowed a significant enhancement to the grounds of the facility and the installation of a patient lifter system in every room that was outside the originals cope of the project.
