Studying Nursing or Midwifery while at School

Some hospitals and schools offer nursing as a subject as part of Years 11 and 12 allowing students to begin their study whilst still at school. If this is an option that you would like to consider, talk to your school careers advisor or get in touch with your local hospital to find out what opportunities are available, how many hours a week you will need to spend in the hospital and if the subjects taught at your school will contribute to your HSC.

Some schools and hospitals also work in partnership with universities to grant credit for these subjects if you enrol in the Bachelor of Nursing, for example the Australian Catholic University: www.acu.edu.au
