Summary
The intention of the guidelines is to ensure early appropriate management of immediately, or imminently life threatening conditions, and to relieve pain and suffering for patients at hospitals where medical practitioners are not immediately available. The Guidelines reflect best clinical practice and are not mandatory, however, they have been adopted and implemented across the State since 2004 providing essential clinical support for clinicians. Not distributed in hard copy by policy system. Version 2.1 released August 2007.
