Summary
The NSW Government is committed to providing services and support fairly to all members of the community. A carer is a family member, friend, neighbour, or other community member who provides support and assistance to another person, often in a regular and sustained way, without payment other than in some instances a pension or benefit. The CALD Carer Framework identifies a whole range of strategies and evidence-based research to assist Government agencies to work towards the priority of identifying and supporting hidden carers. The CALD carers framework should be distributed to those stakeholders responsible for the implementation of the NSW Carers Action Plan, including AHS Carer Support Officer. This Guideline is a supplement to the NSW Carers Action Plan 2007-2012 (PD2007_018).
