Summary
The Guiding Principles aim to promote quality use of medicines and better medication management in the community. They will assist public and private service providers to develop or evaluate policies and procedures, support those involved in assisting consumers, and support consumers to manage their medicines. They are targeted at paid health and community care service providers supporting older people to manage their medicines in their home and in the community but could also be used by other community based services, such as those which support people with disabilities or chronic disease.
