Summary
This policy directive is effective from 1 July 2005, and requires all public health organisations to use the NSW Health Security Improvement Assessment Tool (Chapters 31, 32 and 33 of "Protecting People and Property: NSW Health Policy and Guidelines for Security Risk Management in Health Facilities") to conduct the mandatory annual hospital security survey; to ensure that at least one member of the security survey team holds a security licence; to ensure that all Elements in the Tool identified as mandatory are included in the annual survey; and to ensure that the results of the security survey are readily available for forwarding electronically to the Department, should the results be required.
