Summary
This policy directive prescribes the requirements of the Area Health Services requesting financial support offered by the Nursing and Midwifery Office in implementing the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cadetship Program for the NSW Public Sector. The Nursing and Midwifery Office offers financial support for 35 Aboriginal nursing undergraduates in NSW, through the provision of wages for the work placement period. All cadets are to be offered permanent employment at the completion of the cadetship.
