Summary
This policy directive is to clarify the requirements of the Public Health (Disposal of Bodies) Regulation 2002 for hospital and health facility staff when managing the bodies of deceased patients within their facility. This policy also provides guidance for Area Health Services with respect generally to the management of mortuaries and mortuary services within Health facilities and the need for regular audit of mortuaries.
