This policy has been developed to provide direction to clinicians regarding therapeutic hypothermia (whole body cooling) for neonates at or greater than 35 weeks of gestation born in a non-tertiary hospital with suspected moderate or severe hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE).
