Services

Local public mental health services are based in regions in NSW known as Area Mental Health Services. Area Mental Health Services provide inpatient, hospital-based, and community mental health services for all age groups across the spectrum of mental health care—from emergency response to less urgent mental health consultations.

Community mental health services provide care for people with acute problems and people in crisis. Each service includes after-hours contact as well as long-term care. They also provide programs to promote mental health and prevent mental health problems.
