The aims of the Principles of Care and Guidelines for
the Clinical Management of Diabetes Mellitus are to:
- ensure that all people with diabetes
receive optimal standards of care
- promote consistency in clinical practice, while
allowing for the different needs of individual patients
- aid in clinical decision making, and
- ultimately improve the health outcomes of people
with diabetes.
