Physical activity network

The Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Advancement at the NSW Department of Health supports a state-wide network of health promotion professionals who work in NSW Area Health Services to promote active lifestyles in the community.

The Physical Activity Coordinators' Network plays in important role in health promotion in NSW. While a representative from each Area Health Service attends several face-to-face meetings throughout the year, the network is connected on a daily basis for discussion and information through a listserv. The network plays a valuable role in supporting health promotion workers through professional development sessions, providing networking opportunities, and ensuring a mechanism for information transfer and consultation processes between health promotion policy makers and health promotion practitioners.

If you would like further information on the Physical Activity Coordinators' Network, please contact the Network Secretariat, Rachael Graham, Sydney West Area Health Service, on Rachael.Graham@wsahs.nsw.gov.au.
