Injury data for New South WalesThe Health of the People of NSW: Report of the Chief Health OfficerThe Chief Health Officers report describes trends in deaths and hospitalisations due to injury and poisoning in NSW. The specific injury types chosen to be reported on reflect priorities for injury prevention in NSW. The Chief Health Officers report is available at: www.health.nsw.gov.au/public-health/chorep/index.html NSW Health Survey Injury Prevention IssuesThe 1997 and 1998 NSW Health Surveys addressed a range of issues relevant to injury prevention. In 1997, these were the incidence of injuries and source of health care for injuries, household smoke alarms, private or communal swimming pools and resuscitation training. In 1998, questions on smoke alarms were repeated, and respondents who lived on rural properties were asked questions about fencing around the home and use of off-road motorbikes and agricultural bikes. NSW Injury ProfileThe NSW Injury Risk Management Research Centre produces a profile of injury in NSW. This report presents an overview of injury-related deaths and hospitalisations in NSW. It contains chapters on injury-specific issues: suicide; motor vehicles; falls; poisoning; interpersonal violence; drowning; and fire/burns.
