The Skin Prevention Strategic Plan
2001-2005 - PDF focuses on six key settings for sun protection initiatives:
- primary schools
- secondary schools
- children's services
- outdoor sport and recreation
- workplaces
- local government
NSW Health has an inter-agency focus for this work through the Sun Protection
Inter-agency Group (SPIAG). Key partners on this group include:
- The Cancer Council NSW
- Department of Local Government
- Department of Community Services
- Department of Sport and Recreation
- Workcover NSW
- Department of Education and Training
- Catholic Education Commission
- and the Association of Independent Schools.
Working cross-sectorally ensures an integrated and sustainable approach
to sun protection across the key settings.
