Monitoring Activities
The Private Health Care Branch monitors and ensures compliance
with licensing standards under the Private Hospitals and Day
Procedure Centres Act 1988, Private Hospitals Regulation 1996
and Day Procedure Centres Regulation 1996.
The Branch's activities include onsite visits, paper audits,
telephone or written contact. The type of audit conducted
may be routine or focus on a particular area. All facilities
receive regular visits to ensure compliance.
Following an audit a report is sent to the facility that
may ask for improvements to be made. The Branch continues
to monitor the facility to follow up on the progress of these
improvements.
