Changes to Notification of Diseases under the NSW Public Health Act 1991The list of Category 3 medical conditions in Schedule 1 of the Public Health Act 1991 that must be notified by laboratories has been modified to add Hendra virus infection and Rotavirus infection, and to lower the blood lead level that is notifiable from 15μg/dL to 10μg/dL or above.

In summary:- The rate of influenza-like illness (ILI) presentations to selected emergency departments (EDs) was low and within the usual range for this time of year.
- Laboratory testing data indicated overall influenza activity was low this week.
- Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) was the most common respiratory virus identified by sentinel laboratories.
- Bronchiolitis activity in selected emergency departments continued to increase.
- The rate of deaths due to pneumonia or influenza remained below the seasonal threshold.
